iPhone 16 Pro Max volume fluctuation with and without vocals

Hello everyone.

I've been an iphone owner for the last 4 years. I had an iphone 12. Two days ago I got an iPhone 16 Pro Max an I m having a weird issue. I searched this subreddit and even the official apple discussion forum but i didn t find someone with a similar issue.

The "problem" is that when i listen to a song, either on spotify or youtube or even Apple Music, the volume lowers when i am at the part of a song that there are no vocals. Immediately when the singer starts singing or speaking the volume increases and then lowers again when he/she stops. I couldn't find anything in the device or the app settings. What am I missing? why is this happening?

I didn't have this issue with my iphone 12.

Can you try going to

Setting -> Sounds and haptics -> Volume Limit: make sure it’s disable
Setting -> Sounds and haptics -> Headphone safety: try turning off reduce loud sound to see if that fix the problem
Setting -> Accessibility -> Audio and visual -> Headphone accommodations: make sure it’s off
Setting -> Accessibility -> Audio and visual -> make sure voice isolation is off

That’s all that i can think off that may cause the problem if that problem lies on ios level. If that does not work, there could be another feature that may cause it.

On apple music there is a feature called Sound Check which can be found in Setting -> App -> Music that make sure all song are in the same level of loudness so you don’t have to change volume for every song

On youtube there is a similar setting to the sound check on apple music called stable volume which can be accessed when you press the setting icon on the top right when you are watching a video

Thank you very much for answering.

Sadly i had all these settings already set so I couldn't solve my issue.

Its like a noise suppression feature. Like it detects music as noise and tries to silence it and when there is a voice the volume gets louder again.

Also I've noticed that when the iPhone volume is set below 40% so it's only happening when the volume is set at 50% or more.
