The mail app icons that came with update 18.2, I find them annoying, is there a way to remove them?

Go to Settings>Apps>Mail>Show Contact Photos. Turn that off.

THANK you! I was trying to find a way to do it within the open app, which obviously was not possible. Those icons clutter the screen and are not helpful. Appreciate your answer!
How to KEEP photos within the CONTACT list… but still Remove the Category Icons in iOS 18.2 Mail.
I’ve followed the instructions and did remove the Category Icons… but now the contact photos are gone.
