Quicktime video Airplay issue from Macbook Air to Samsung Smart TV
👋🏻
I have a 2022 Macbook Air OS 14.7 & 2023 Samsung Smart TV - 43” QLED
I’ve never been able to able to view Quicktime videos on my TV from my Macbook (current and previous Mac OS & Samsung TV updates.)
It always shows a grey screen on the Mac & the words’ connected to Macbook Air” (see photos) on the TV. But no video or sound plays!
On this forum I seen help saying that “Content providers can block AirPlay,” but I don’t mean professional things/Netflix/streaming services, just various .mp4 or .mov videos on my Mac in Quicktime (as basic as shot on an iphone.)
To test this idea, the very same videos from my iPhone SE 2022 (originating on this phone or someone else’s’ smartphone) Airplay fine on the same Samsung TV, so it can’t be the content provider blocking AirPlay.
I’ve tried many different videos in Quicktime, trying to see if there’s any kind that will airplay correctly, but none do!
Every single time I get the incorrect message “The video is playing on QLED 43” on my Macbook & the
"Airplay connected" message on the TV.
Does anyone have any idea what the Quicktime to Airplay issue could be?
Thanks
