AirPods connecting every few seconds

My AirPods keep interrupting my music saying AirPods connected every couple of seconds causing my music to pause. I then have to press play again every every time. It’s so annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting also forget this device and resetting my phone.
