Windows PC Can’t Log Into iCloud After iPhone PW Reset

UPDATE: {Can Anyone Help?}

. I was able to try using my wife’s MacBook Air to create an account and try to access iCloud from it… same thing… I get a response that the login box outlines in red. It no onger accepts any email/phone# and password I have in my password manager.

I am reluctant to choose the ‘Forgot Password’ option. I am concerned that my iPhone would break after that and cause all sorts of issues.

. I can currently see files in iCloud, but only from the iPhone. I don’t know how to proceed from here. Can someone direct me to how to regain access to my files from my Windows computer without breaking the iPhone’s access?

UPDATE 2:

. I ended up changing my password, again and, from my iPhone, after I couldn't log into the App Store to load the Apple Support app. I used the same password I used when changing it from Settings. After that, I can not log into my account from a Windows browser. But, the files have not yet begun to replicate back to the computer. It looks like it might start doing something, but I am not sure if/when.

. I now have my Windows computer showing as a registered in my Devices. So, there is that.

I really stumbled into this amount of 'progress'. My question is now if getting a MacOS computer and setting it up would allow files to sync between the cloud and it. That is my ultimate goal, but not what I am immediately prepared to do.

If anyone could tell me if I could have avoided this scenario and how I can recover, I would appreciate it. I am really not Apple familiar and could use a lot of assistance in this regard.
