Magic Mouse no Longer functions using MacMini 2018

I will assume that the Bluetooth technology of an INTEL Processor is no longer compatible with the latest Mice and perhaps other bluetooth devices. I've had to start using a wired mouse again after many years due to the herky jerky and complete cursor stoppages which constantly occur with the wireless Magic Mouse.

Yes, I have checked and adjusted every setting under the Sun prior to reporting this problem. And please note that using a mouse that came with a relative's M3 iMac is slightly better but also still non functional.

Has bluetooth changed at all in the past decade?

The OS is Sequoia 15.1.1 and there's 64Gb of Ram.
