Apple Music interference with hearing aid on iPhone 11

Using new Airpods Pro gen 2 with hearing aid, iPhone 11 with ios 18.2. While trying to watch football game or converse with friends, the Apple Music app encroaches and interferes with the hearing aid feature, playing whatever musical selection is up next. I have had to remove the Music app to keep it from happening, but surely there must be a way to disable this "automatic" interference? Can someone offer a solution?
