AirPod Pro 2 connectivity issues with TVs compared to AirPod Pro 1

You can find numerous complaints from various people going back years about this issue.

The AirPod Pro 1 headphones worked perfectly with all my TVs. Yet the AirPod Pro 2 aren’t able to function properly with any of them.

The Pro 2 headphones will connect and sometimes work fine until a video is paused, or the app is switched. After pausing a video or changing the TV app, all sound goes away, even though they are still connected.

Oftentimes, the Pro 2 headphones will connect and immediately be incredibly choppy—even without pausing or switching apps.

Why is this happening? What did Apple do that removed the ability of their headphones to work with 3rd party TVs. Most importantly, will it be resolved?

Secondarily, are there any known workarounds to get them to properly work?
