Find my is useless for Beats Fit Pro

When the earbuds are inside their case, the Find My app fails to establish a connection with them.

If I forget or mislay the case with the earbuds inside, Find My app only registers the last instance when the earbuds were outside the case and connected to the phone. It doesn't track the last time the case itself was in proximity to the phone.

This renders Find My completely pointless. Am I doing something wrong or is Find My pointless for Beats Fit Pro?
