beats solo 4 not staying connected to samsung tv

i got myself and my fiancé each a pair of beats solo 4 for christmas and i can get them connected to the samsung smart tv for a second but then the connection immediately drops. there’s a pop up the comes up a couple seconds later asking if i want to connect to the beats solo 4 and when i hit connect it loads for about a minute and then says cannot connect, please check device.

both the beats solo 4’s and the tv are up to date on firmware.

does anyone know how to fix this issue? senseless to buy such expensive headphones only for them to not connect to the tv as intended. please help.
