Songs unavailable in my Music library on iPhone

I have a large music library on my iPhone, transferred over from my Mac. But many, many songs on different playlists are unplayable - they're greyed out. I can play them in the Music app on my Mac, but not on my iPhone. I'm also a subscriber to Apple Music.


How do I make these songs playable again on my iPhone?
