Magic mouse 2 looses connection after sleep, plus my experience with apple support

New mouse for my intel mac mini 2018. Works fine but whenever the mac mini wakes from sleep, it displays connection lost and most of the time fails to reconnect without manually turning the mouse on/off. If I do this, it reconnects and continues on fine until the next wake from sleep.


Still have a magic mouse 1 that connects no probs after sleep.


My support experience so far.


Got thru to chat support, was advised to delete a couple of plist files, restart and see what happens. I did this and nothing changed.


Next chat support said I would have ti escalate to a senior advisor who would call me back - great! However the call is automated and says 'press 1 to connect ot the advisor now' But then it doesnt recognize me pressing 1, and hangs up on me. This happens a number of times. I go back to chat and tell them what happened, and they tell me to ring a number to connect to the senior advisor instead. I do this, and get connected, but nobody is on the other end.... I wait for a minute, then hang up.


I talk to chat again, and suggest they test their system - maybe take a call from this automated themself and see if it works - I get assured its all good, must be my phone they say - (iphone... which has no issue pressing '1' for any other automated system ever.....) they suggest using another phone. I dont have access to another phone right now. They try again - it fails to recognize my keypresses again.... hangs up


Go back to chat again, they organize another call, and this time its not automated - an actual person just start starts talking to me. She says she will have to get some 'logs for the engineers' and then nothing else. I wait on the line for a minute - 'hello? hello?' and eventually the call hangs up on me.


back to chat - tell them Im out of time for this afternoon - what is going to happen next? why did I get hung up on? what logs? they helpfully tell me they can arrange another call from support at another time. I cant wait to go thru this entire process again....
