Lightning Digital AV Adapter power issue on iPad after iOS 18 update

Since iOS 18 update, a setup I’ve used for years stopped working, with the error message being “Lightening Digital AV Adapter: this accessory requires too much power”

I’m using a 9th gen iPad 18.1.1, lightening HDMI adapter to a digital projector. It worked for years until the update.
