NUMBERS: Recent Items menu is empty with the exception of "clear"

Recent update to Sonoma: Now the Recent Items menu in Numbers does not populate. (It also takes a long time to open a file - but that's another issue). How do I get my Recent Items back?

Recent Files: Not showing in Numbers - just default files When I open Numbers (Version 14.0 - 7039.0.94) on Sonoma 14.5 I want to be able to see my recent documents as the default tab. As it stands I need to click on the Recent option which is ok to live with. When I do it doesn't show my recent files just the default ones. If I go to the FILE menu then RECENTS it shows all my recent items. I've read that changing system preferences to something other than 10 for recent files will fix it, but it hasn't changed anything. I don't know how to submit a bug to Apple but I doubt they wouild read my bug or change anything by doing so. Any ideas? Do you have the same issue?

Can Numbers menu option for Recent Files be changed? So this is not the most pressing problem in the world today, but it has been bothering me for a long time. Please see the screenshot below - note when Numbers is started, (by default) a user can see as many as the last ten files opened in the Open Recent section of the menu. (The blue block is to obscure file names only and does not actually appear on the screen...) Question: I would like to increase the number of files shown in the Open Recent section of the Numbers menu to 15 or 20 - how can I do that (or can this be done)? Thanks for any ideas on this!
