Transparency and noise cancellation not working properly

Overtime my transparency and noise cancelation quality for my AirPod pros has decreased to the point where I can’t tell when both features are on or off. The conversation boost feature also flickers on and off. My right AirPod specifically has more problems than my left in that it doesn’t cancel volume or amplify volume even when the conversation boost feature is on.

I’ve reset them and taken them to Apple but they can’t seem to find any problems even though I know there are because I’ve compared my AirPods to a different set and have very much noticed a difference. What’s wrong? And how can I get this fixed? Should I just expect the quality of Apple products to degrade overtime?

It's certainly my experience that the noise cancellation of my Beats Fit Pros has got increasingly worse with recent software updates. The difference between noise cancellation on and off isn't as stark as it was when I first bought them to the point where I now need to turn the volume up when I'm on the Underground, which wasn't the case when I first bought them. There have been a couple of posts recently on these boards with others having the same experience. I can't speak for transparency mode because I never use it.
