Lock Screen Widget - Show Only Today's Reminder

I'm using the Reminders app to track daily repeat actions, and I have a widget on my lock screen to quickly view the reminder note. However, when I complete a "today" reminder, the next day's reminder immediately appears.

Is there a way to make the lock screen widget show only today's reminder and not display future ones until the next day?
