"Find my" -suffix in the AirPods name

Whenever I connect my AirPods Pro 2 or 4 to non-Apple device, or to an Apple device with another Apple ID, the AirPods' name gets such a "Find my"-suffix. Earlier there wasn't anything like this with AirPods 2. Can someone explain the reason for that and, if possible, how to turn this "feature" off, without deleting the AirPods from Find My app?
