Numbers Function: If Text Contains NonExact Match

Looking to run a function to return the serial number of one external product name. The only reference I have are internal product names that are not exact matches. Will flesh out what I'm looking for later today.

TLDR; Curious if anyone knows of good "nonexact" text contains functions.

Not sure exactly what you mean when you talk about "text contains" functions.

If you are looking up things based on inexact matches then XLOOKUP has a parameter for that.

XLOOKUP - Apple Support

Note that you can use the wildcard * for characters that don't match.

XMATCH has similar matching behavior.

XMATCH - Apple Support

A specific example of what you are trying to do would help to suggest your best approach.
