Tranfering Music from Apple Music (Mac) to iTunes (Windows)

I exported my library as an XML and edited the paths so they're matching on my drive. The issue is that all of the songs are found but they won't play.

It's showing an icon next to them. I looked up the icon and appearently it thinks these files are stored on the internet? Im not signed into itunes at all and never used sync so what's the issue?

This is a fresh install of itunes on my PC btw

You should not have exported the library as a XML file. Copy the entire library from the Mac in its native format (to a thumb drive) and then paste that library to your iTunes library on the PC. For complete details see:

Hi,

Unfortunately the Mac's .musiclibrary package format is not compatible with iTunes for Windows, so it isn't as simple as using the native library. Editing an exported XML file to take account of the new paths of tracks on the new system will normally work, provided you make the right change, and leave the file in a format that iTunes understands. It may be necessary to rewrite all line feeds as carriage return, line feed for example. I recommend Notepad++ for editing the XML.

Can you share an example of a location property before and after your edits along with the true location for the same track?

Did you get this resolved yet? What icon do you see? I may have seen this behaviour before, where an imported track appears to the library as an Internet stream rather than a local file. As before it may be that you didn't quite manage the right edit of the XML file and it might be worth revisiting that, or I might be able to write a script that can update the library so that it treats these items as local files.
