Airpod 4’s Being Bugging and Having Problems

I have just got my airpod 4’s after owning airpod 2’s for years. My airpod 2’s seemed really solid and never had any problems but i was looking for a sound upgrade so i went to the 4’s. After getting them i noticed some small bugs and i was like, okay they’re new maybe they need to update but it kept happening. The big bug im having issues with is my airpods will connect to my phone, and then i would play something like an audio message in messages and it would disconnect, then connect back 20 seconds later after the audio already shifted to my phone. This also happens on Facetime randomly too where it would disconnect then reconnect and i would have to ask people to repeat themselves because my airpods disconnected. (This also rarely happens when using apple music too but only happens when i push the play button then i have no problems after that). I have already tried erasing it from my iPhone but that didn’t seem to solve anything. Can anyone please help? Thank you so much!
