iCloud+ not working on Windows 11 laptop

I have a 5-year old Lenovo laptop running Windows 11. I also pay for Apple One which includes icloud+. When I try to use it for my documents and files, it says I don't have the correct icloud folder but it won't let me add one or change the one that's not working. (it seems to work for photos, weird). I have googled this and get conflicting info.

-It doesn't work with Windows 11.

-It does work with Windows 11.

-I have to be using Windows 15 which I can't find anywhere to download.

-I can use it with Windows 10 and later.

I'm thinking just to punt and get a new laptop and start fresh. Advice?
