What happen for two backups (iCloud + and windows)

i have a backup in iCloud+ for my iPhone.

months later I make a local backup in windows with iCloud/itunes.

if I reset my phone, and I restore my iCloud backup, and after this I connect my iPhone to the laptop to restore my local backup, what happen? Will they merge? Will one overwrite the other, what’s the process

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 18

To restore a backup you must erase the device first. So yes, if you restore the iCloud backup first and then try to restore the one made in Windows, it will erase the iPhone and place that data from the backup on the computer, onto the iPhone instead.

Pick the newest back and use that one. It will contain all your data and be the most up to date.
