I purchased my apple pencil gen 2 18 months ago but have never used it. I plugged into my iPad 9th gen for the first time and it will not charge. Maybe the pencil battery is so depleted (through lack of use) that is is now dead and cannot be charged. Is this likely. Any thoughts/ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.
