I'm using the newest version of Logic and whenever I'm selecting a track and playing, it only plays all the tracks not selected. This is not unique to a specific track, as I switch to other track, the one unselected starts playing. It's a minor inconvenience because I can select a blank track to hear everything, but I really want to fix this.

It seems to me, you are describing a standard behavior of every DAW. This is not a bug. If you only want to hear the selected region or track, you need to activate Solo.
It wasn't like this before I updated. Is there a while I can disable this?
activate Solo.
