Mac Apple Music wont play on bluetooth speakers unless downloaded
I have a 2024 Mac Mini M4 running Sequoia 15.2 with 32GB ram. I have a Klipsch bluetooth speaker. I also have a Creative Pebble V3 bluetooth speaker just to try more than one speaker to rule out its the speaker. I have an excellect Internet connection. When I have the speakers connected, everything can play to it just fine. I launch Apple Music and I select the internal mac mini speaker. I then go into My Library and I select a song to play and start playing it. I hear it playing through the internal speaker. Note that I have NOT downloaded this song yet. It is streaming over the internet. I then select a bluetooth speaker from within the Apple Music app. The song stops playing. I then hit play. It attempts to play, and then after a bit it skips to the next song as if it is unable to stream the song. I then switch back to the internal mac mini speaker, and play the song. It plays through that speaker.
I then click the download button for that song and wait for it to download. I then play that song and I hear it through the mac mini internal speaker. I then select the bluetooth speaker and it plays through the bluetooth speaker now. So when it is downloaded, the song will play anywhere.
I then click to remove the downloaded song. I then try to play the song, and once again it will not play over the bluetooth speaker. I select the internal mac mini speakers and it will play.
The take from this is that apple music will not stream music to a bluetooth speaker on a Mac Mini M4. Multiple bluetooth speakers were used so I can rule out it being a speaker issue. I can rule out it being a network issue.
Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?
