Problem with reconnecting AirPods after "Forget Device" in settings

My left earbud wasn't charging, so I pressed "forget device" in settings. I was trying to connect it again to my device, but it didn't work. I tried everything I could like resetting my AirPods, trying to connect to another device, cleaning, and it still didn't work. I still can't connect the AirPods to my phone. I'm not sure what is going on. Anyone else have this problem?
