MacBook M3 won’t connect to iPhone 16 via Bluetooth

MacBook M3 will not connect to IPhone 16 Bluetooth. iPhone says not supported- MacBook doesn’t find it at all. Good job Apple. MacBook is brand new and I just did a software upgrade. Seems pretty glitchy so far….. My first Mac .. I was expecting better.

Macs and iPhones have Bluetooth – but don't pair with each other using it.

You set them up to work with each other in other ways, e.g., using iCloud synchronization, connections to the same e-mail accounts, and Continuity features. Some Continuity features may make use of Bluetooth, but they do that in ways that do not involve pairing.

iCloud+ - Apple

Use iCloud on iPhone - Apple Support

Set up iCloud on your Mac - Apple Support

macOS - Continuity - Apple

Continuity features and requirements on Apple devices - Apple Support

Use Continuity to work across Apple devices - Apple Support

There is nothing wrong with your macbook or iphone.

You can't connect two Apple devices together via bluetooth unless you're tethering, it has always been that way. What are you trying to accomplish?

Apple is doing a great job, there is no "glitch".
