Issue with Focusrite functionality on Zoom

I use an external microphone running through a Focusrite Scarlett v4 interface.  This mic is picked up as expected by the system, and shows input on the system setup.  It also provides input as epected to voice recorder app and Logic Pro.  It does not, however, successfully provide input or show up on the signal indicator in zoom.  My laptop mic and airpods pro mic work fine.


I have spent 2 hours on line with 2 different AI chatbots analyzing the problem without resolution.  Have gone through long logical procedures and even cleaned up old scraps in the machine code relative to Zoom and Focusrite.  Have uninstalled Zoom and Focusrite software, removed all traces of them, and reinstalled fresh copies without success.  I am now beginning to think Zoom simply does not work with the Focusrite interface, although the rest of my computer does. How could that be? It causes me to question if it might, in fact, be something in Sonoma. I have idea where to turn if not.


I bring the question here as I have heard of similar kinds of issues that were OS in nature.

1. MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

2. Zoom: fresh download/install yesterday 6.3.6

3. Focusrite Control App version: 1.449.0.26180 Firmware 1.2.2188.0


Something is strangely wrong here, and I am sure someone must understand or be able to suggest a fix.  Anyone?

This has nothing to do with the OS, your mac or Apple, since it works as intended with Apple's app.

You'll need to work it out with Focusrite or Zoom support.

Thanks for your input. Both the Focusrite and Zoom interface with the OS, don't they? And so it is possible that there is something in the OS relating to the problem, though I admit, your logic sounds right to me. The other problem is that both Zoom and Focusrite really don't have support other than a chatbot, and a very poor one at that. Oh, wait - I can get more advanced support at Zoom if I pay for a higher-level of service, which I otherwise don't need. So...I am on the community at Zoom and will look for one one Focusrite as well, asking the same question(s) I've asked here. It is on the Zoom Commmunity that I've learned that others have had similar problems that have not been resolved. But, some similar problems have been resolved through OS updates... Sooo..... I just thought I'd ask the Apple community, as it is beginning to seem there will be no solution.
