File missing in numbers

I saved a template file in numbers and stored a lot of information from 01Jan2025 to 31Jan2025. Today i tried to refer the file. I found it missing. How to retrieve it? Please guide me.

Extension of saved files wrong. Saving a .step file from a site it gets saved as a .txt and there is NO way to change the extension. How can this be solved?
