How do you delete caches card images from your Apple wallet?

I want to see a new image of my credit card since my bank updated their plastic design.

There are none. For security purposes the user and Apple have very limited access to the Secure Element where it’s stored. The only way the user could force the update would be to remove the card from the Wallet app and then re-add the card. The new or updated art work at the URL the bank provides would be used.

They are both wrong. Escalate your request to a higher level of bank support. Visa has no dog in this race and are obviously clueless.

Your bank sends Apple the URL to download the card art card image files. Please read below what I underlined and made bold for your convenience.

Here is a small portion of the bank card provisioning process.

”As the result of the Link and Provision process, two things occur:

  • The device begins to download the Apple Walletpass file representing the credit or debit card.

  • The device begins to bind the card to the Secure Element.

The pass file contains URLs to download card art, metadata about the card such as contact information, the related issuer’s app and supported features. It also contains the pass state, which includes information such as whether the personalising of the Secure Element has completed, whether the card is currently suspended by the card issuer or whether additional verification is required before the card can make payments with Apple Pay.”

On a personal note, I had the same issue with Capital One. Took me about 2 months to finally get into the right area that understood what I was talking about. I wish you luck and hope you have a great weekend!

The metadata workbook has been completely correctly withthe card processor and the images, profile ids and card art are all associated with the correct card product and all this information is correctly loaded into the Visa portal, all that is left is to look to the cached images in the Apple wallet. They have to be deleted so the new art work can be loaded into the Apple wallet from Visa. The cached images are stuck in the Apple wallet and need to be deleted. Have any instructions on how to do that the the phone settings?
