Right click popup is flakey with Mouse, but not Trackpad
Macbook Pro with M2 Pro, Sonoma 14.6.1
When I right cilck using the mouse, the context menu (or popup menu) is very flakey. Using the trackpad (control-click) all context menus work perfectly (ie, like butter), but using the right mouse button, every context menu always has one more "flakey" issues....
- Takes between 0.5s - 2s to popup the menu
- Menu is usually unstable, flickering on and off, sometimes very quickly, sometimes very slowly. Even when I'm holding the mouse pointer perfectly still (ie, PERFECTLY STILL) while engaging the right click.
Again, this happens on every app, on the macbook display or external monitor, and it's been going on for as long as I can remember (I've had the macbook for 1.5yrs).
Some things I've tried:
- Safe mode, alternate user, just as horrible
- Settings -> Trackpad -> Scroll&Zoom -> Smart Zoom = OFF
- Settings -> Mouse -> Double Click Speed = (Reduced 25%)
- Settings -> Trackpad -> Point&Click -> Secondary Click = OFF
As far as I know, I've never installed anything that should remotely interfere with system behavior. Nothing helps.
