i'm told it now works in ZA but cannot see on mine.

Sorry I don't know whether or not it is available there. As Apple users, like yourself, we have no way of checking.

(The feature generally requires approval from the relevant regulatory authority in a country, before release.

It may take a few months after approval before it becomes available., so patience is needed. in some countries.)

Note: Seems Apple Intelligence is turned on by default in the latest updates, unless turned off in an earlier version.

Sorry I don't know if the rumours are true or not. We have no way of knowing for sure.

If you have the latest iOS version installed, and the hearing-aid test and hearing-aid feature are not available when you follow Apple's video, that should prove it one way or the other.
