How can I use iMac as monitor for Mac mini?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my iMac a new Mac mini M4 and was wondering if it were possible to use the iMac as a monitor for the mini, and also, if possible, what would I need to do.

My current iMac is as follows:

3GHz 6-core Intel Core i5

Radeon Pro 560x 4GB

8 GB 2667 MHz DDR

Retina display.

Best regards.

Nope sorry, those Mac models do not support the old plug & play cabled Target Display Mode features.

If you get a new M4 Mac mini, you'll need an external display for setup and main display.
