My new Mac mini Pro's internet connection is seriously slow when connecting to internet but not the iMac 27 on the same network.

I have two machines connected to wifi, my new Mac mini pro and my old iMac 27. My MacMini takes a very long time to connect, and when it does it takes approximately 5 minutes. My iMac 27 which is right next to the Mini connects right away and does not lag.

I noticed that the wifi symbol on the mini goes semi-transparent and I have to restart the computer, as well a restart my DSL connection and my AirPort Extreme.Any help would be appreciated

Please reset your modem and router, yes we realize other devices are okay but you should do this anyway. Also ensure you are running the most up-to-date firmware for your modem and router.

The fact that you are still using an AirPort indicates you have not updated or upgraded your network equipment in many years, something you probably should consider doing!
