Text Message from Apple Pay

I received a text message saying my Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" and that there are some suspicious sign in requests and apple pay activation requests detected. Is this a scam? They gave a bogus (I think) number to call is an 802 area code.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

That's a scam. Apple will never send text messages that suggest they think a purchase is suspicious, and will never say that your iCloud account was used for a purchase.

Forward the message to Apple at report phishing at apple.com and delete it.
