Step/beat sequencer in iOS, but not on MacOS. Why?!?! :(

I see that the iOS version of GarageBand has a step/beat sequencer, but the MacOS version does not? I have also tried Logic Remote, but no step/beat sequencer. This surely would be a simple feature to have cross platform? Or is there a plugin to be able to input any instrument or beat with a step sequencer?
