You don't need to specifically add your iPod to a devices list.
Instead, to add music to an iPod Classic connect it to:
When using iTunes, you can add music that you have purchased and that is in your iTunes Library to the iPod by using the Sync function.
When using Finder, go to the Finder / General menu and make sure that CDs, DVDs and iOS devices is ticked (checked). Only then will the iPod appear on the sidebar in Finder. I'm not familiar enough with Finder, but if you do need help with it, I'm sure someone here can provide it.
MiltonS1,
I have responded to the discussion that you started. Stick to that discussion rather than adding to one that is on a different matter.
Help! I have an iPod Classic U2 Special Edition. In error, I deleted my entire music library on the iPod. Is there any way I can recover the deleted music back to my iPod? I have no idea if my music was saved to iCloud or iTunes Library, etc.
I apologize for adding to a different situation. I am new to this Community and this is the very first time I have ever been to a group chat. I did not know on the correct procedure to ask a question or how to properly address the group or my question.
I did not understand that I was adding to another different discussion which I thought was somewhat similar to my situation. I was desperate for help as I had my ipod for many decades and the thought of losing all of that music was terrible. I will do better in the future.
Thank you for responding to my question. I really do appreciate your help. I will follow your direction to recover my music library and prayerfully I will succeed.
Once again, thank you.

No harm done. I'm simply trying to keep the forum from becoming an jumbled mess that no one can understand.
