How do I correct number formatting in tables and lists on Mac mini?

I have trouble dictation in tables or lists that have numbers in them, such as

1. text

2. text

that comes out as

one. text

two. text but if I enter

twelve dictation types out 12

There does not seem to be any method to this.

so I always end up using the keypad for any numbers.
