iMovie iOS vs OS - Sound tracks

Hi, I see on my iMovie on my iPad has a lovely selection of soundtracks I could pick from. Then I noticed that Mac version of iMovie has more features so I started transitioning my video editing over to my MacBook, however ALL those wonderful soundtrack I use for background music (and doesn't violate any legality music contract when I post on YouTube) are GONE!!!! How can I add those soundtracks to my iMovie on my MacBook Pro? I'd expect these soundtracks are generic to Apple thus can be used on any apple device. Seems silly that the device that has more capability (MacBook Pro) has less soundtrack options. Please help.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.3

Hi,

Unfortunately Mac iMovie does not have the Soundtracks feature that iPad iMovie has.

As a workaround, you could create a new iMovie project on your iPad and add one or more of the soundtracks to it. Then export (save) it to your iPad Photos library from where you can Air Drop it to your Mac for use in iMovie. Air Drop will deposit the song in your Mac's Downloads folder. Just drag it into a Mac IMovie Event or project. You could save several soundtrack songs this way and create a sort of audio library of them in an Event or project on your Mac. A bit awkward, I know, but at least you could have the iPad soundtrack songs available for use on your Mac iMovie.
