refund issue - removed bank account details could be the cause?

Requested a refund on subscription but haven't received refund. I am aware it can take up to 30 days to refund to my bank and it hasn't been that long so it could still turn up.

However, I am worried that the refund money didn't go through and will never arrive, because I removed my bank card details straight after the I saw the subscription had been purchased (I didn't buy the subscription so I thought it was best to get rid of my card details incase it was fraud). Perhaps apple doesn't know where to send my refund money since I got rid of my details? I added them back on today but think it's too late.

Please let me know if this is actually a problem, or if apple has probably succeeded in refunding me anyway and I should just wait. If it is a problem, what can I do?

Thank you for your reply.

A subscription is a Card on File (CoF) transaction and removing the card has no affect on the refund or subscription itself.

If you have not cancelled the subscription you will continue to be billed because the card details are on file with Apple.

If you need to cancel the subscription, please follow the step by step instructions in the Apple Support article linked below.
