Delete music from Mac storage without deleting from Ipod

Hello,

I have an Ipod classic 7th gen (160 gb) and a 128Gb 2016 Mac book pro. As it turns out I am having the issue that my laptop has less storage than my Ipod. The issue that I am having is that my mac cannot rip anymore CD's because it is full with storage. I moved my computer storage music to an external hard drive and deleted them off my computer. This then deleted all the music off of my ipod.

Is there anyway to delete the music off of my computer while still being able to sync new music to my ipod without deleting the older items that are no longer present on my computer's storage?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

If you delete music from your Mac then the next time you synch the iPod it will delete the music from your iPod and you'll lose it for ever. You can move your Music library., I've added a link below, but the best thing you can do is to hang on and hope that TuringTest2 comes along - he's the expert. If he doesn't the search these boards for posts about moving the Music library with TuringTest2 as a contributor (use the filter box at the LH side of the search page).

Before you do anything you should back up the Music Database file ((Music Library.Music Library) in user/Music/Music somewhere, just in case. But wait for TT2 is the best advice for now.
