How to download all 'Messages' from iCloud without an Apple device?

I've migrated to a Linux and self-hosted environment. I have 60GB of "Messages" and no access to any Apple devices. How can I download my "Messages" without an Apple device? (Technically I do still have one Apple device: an old iPhone 12, but it only has 64GB, so I doubt I'll be able to even fit the messages on it. I also don't want to deal with the struggle of connecting to the thing to download the messages even if I can fit them.)

I still use iCloud Mail, which is only using 3GB of data, but only realized today that I haven't been getting any new mail for weeks due to cancelling my higher plan for the free 5GB one weeks ago. Now I'm deleting all the iCloud data that I've already downloaded, but also only just realized I don't have Messages downloaded yet, nor can I find out how to download it.

Is this possible?

I have access to one now with >200GB of available/free storage.

When I sync, it only keeps about 800MB of my messages (again, there are ~62GB on iCloud).

When I choose to disable on that device specifically, it only downloads ~36GB of them, then just stops. Same for when I turn off Messages in iCloud (when it gives you the popup saying it will download all messages).

Do you know of any ways to force-download *all* iCloud Messages?

Confirmed it's impossible even with an iDevice.

But do imagine this scenario if you're thinking about using iCloud Messages...

You use Messages only locally, then decide to sync with iCloud one day. Sync automatically removes several of your messages from the device to "save space." One day, you decide you don't want to use iCloud anymore, or you want to reduce your storage (say, for example, you have 8GB of messages but the free tier of iCloud only offers 5GB of data; so you want to download your messages locally so you don't have to pay for iCloud storage). It is NOT guaranteed that you will be able to download all 8GB of your own data, despite what Settings says when you disable iCloud messages on the device (or turn it off altogether, where it gives you the ironic popup "you'll have 30 days to download your data"). So because you decided to sync your iMessages with iCloud, your own iMessages are inaccessible unless you manually go through the app and load each attachment. I personally recommend sticking with FOSS software, especially when it comes to personal data that might be important to you.
