Turn off fan beeping

The left fan on my macbook pro has broken and won't turn on. This is fine, the computer is a 2020 model and it's now 2025. This is to be expected.

The problem is, there's a god forsaken beeping noise that comes on whenever the fan tries to activate and fails to. It's on if the computer is in use or asleep. It carries oddly well and is designed to be annoying. I haven't found a macbook app that lets me deactivate one fan entirely (recommendations appreciated) and I don't know of a setting to turn off the beeping.

Is the only option truly a repair? Is apple hardware designed to brick itself if any small part of it isn't 100% up to code?

if it is a fan issue— you expect the macOS would balk at a hardware issue yes.

Let Apple tell you what is the issue, cost of repair, or how to proceed— and make your decision based on an informed insight or diagnosis.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
