wife's phone running out of iCloud storage so husband added iCloud+ and invited wife as family. husband's phone and wife's old phone recognize the increased storage but wife's new 16e does not (she is transitioning phones). 16e does show she is a family member and when clicking on the invite she is already accepted.
However the 16e does not indicate the increased storage.
Can you help?

Save a Few: If you wanted to, rather than upgrading your iCloud+ plan, you could export all of iCloud onto an external disk, trash iCloud storage, and then start iCloud anew. Read my User Tip for more: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip
It turns out after that it required some further confirmation on husbands phone to get the actual sharing to stick. once confirmed it appears on the new phone
