Apple Watch Bluetooth not detecting headphones

My new Apple Watch cellular is not detecting headphones. I have tried this many times, restarting both Apple Watch and headphones. Headphone is definitely working as it is detected on my iPhone. It’s just somehow now detecting on my Apple Watch. I want my headphones to connect to my Apple Watch so that I can listen to music when I go out for walks without needing to carry my iPhone. Please help. Thanks

if it was me then I would

make the watch forget the old headset if still in the list

then I would make sure that the headset did not have an active connection with another device, my headsets like to active connect to my iPhone when they are turned on

then I would put the headphones into pairing / discovery mode this is needed the first time one connects to a new device or it will never how up in the list on the device

how you go about putting the headset in question into pairing mode depends on the headset the manual or instructions on the website of the manufacturers should describe how you go about doing so.
