Unable to login to gmail on new iPhone

I’ve recently upgraded my phone to an iPhone 16 pro. I’ve also changed network from 3 to EE.


I now can’t get access to my gmail account. I try to log in but it says it’s sending a code and to login to the gmail app on my phone - but I can’t get into the phone app to enter the code.


I tick the boxes to verify another way but don’t get any where.


This is so frustrating. How do I get around this please?

Not sure what you mean by Apple mail app? I have an Office 365 email/Outlook.


I have deleted the Gmail app that many times I have lost count. When I go into the Gmail phone app, I login using my email and password, it then asks me to verify myself and shows me a code to enter into the Gmail app - which is weird, as it is the app I am trying to get into, so cannot see where to enter the code - It asks me to verify myself another way and then I get a page where it tells me it will text my phone number a code, but no code arrives - so frustrating. I am not sure what else to do and now have no access to my gmail or other Google related accounts - any ideas?
