Group texts randomly deleting people

My group text arrived and it said I removed 5 people from the conversation. I wasn’t even touching my phone. I heard I had a text and walked over to pick up my phone to see the text and then 5 people say they were removed by me. I didn’t remove them. I wasn’t even touching my phone. This is a weird glitch and is causing quite a bit of unintended drama amongst the group. Why does Apple even show this information? If it’s not even correct, why show this to everyone in the group and create drama. It’s a really horrible glitch. Is there a fix on the way? Apple should consider not showing this information on group texts.
