Email body not showing

Been having this issue for a while, was too lazy to research it but now it's happening more and more. I'm using a Mac Studio with Mac OS 15.3.2.

Emails don't display the body text - only the header info (from, subject, date, folder). Under the header is the normal grey separator line, and then the bottom of the email frame - nothing else.

If I look at the same email on my phone it appears properly (the body text shows). This happens to both old and new emails - no discernible pattern. But once the email is 'corrupted' like this there doesn't appear to be a away to fix it so it displays properly.

Open Mail.app from the menu bar select Mail>Settings>Privacy and disable:

  • Block all remote content
  • Protect Mail Activity
  • Hide IP address

After your changes, quit the Mail.app and relaunch it holding the Shift key down and compare your results...

Thanks for responding. Tried that - no change whatsoever.

Holding down the shift key at startup usually rebuilds something - like the index in Photos or iTunes. There was no indication that this was happening here. I do have a fairly large email database - should I let it run a few hours before checking it?
