Mail retrieval doesn’t get pushed through since latest updates.

Since Apple’s last two software updates, the Mail app is not retrieving emails properly. New emails are not pushed through, and notifications do not appear when messages arrive. Additionally, emails are not fetched on time, often requiring a manual refresh to see new messages.

Also, the new layout of “all mail”, “primary” etc is an unhelpful feature and not a necessary addition. It looked and worked fine before, why fix it if it isn’t broke

Affected Accounts:

• Occurs with multiple email providers, including iCloud, Gmail, and Outlook.

Troubleshooting Tried:

• Restarted the device.

• Checked Mail settings (Push, Fetch, and Background App Refresh enabled).

• Removed and re-added email accounts.

• Ensured notifications are enabled for Mail.

Despite these steps, the issue persists. Please advise on a resolution or any upcoming fixes for this problem.

Thank you.

I can confirm this is happening to me and my wife as well. We've both tried the same troubleshooting steps mentioned above, and those steps didn't resolve the issue for us either.

We both have iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 18. She's on 18.3 and I'm on 18.4 (22E5232a). We are both using iCloud for email and this happens both on cellular (Verizon, West US) and wireless networks.

Apple should be embarrassed that they are failing to release a functioning email app for their customers. What a joke they’ve become.

They released AI that summarizes my emails, but my emails cannot be retrieved.

More of my business, time, and money going to the competitor.

apple devs- wake the **** up!

I’ve been having the same issue on my iPhone and iPad (both on iOS 18.3.2) which has been really unhelpful but I have been patiently working around it, waiting for a software update to fix it.

But now a new issue has come up, making iOS Mail useless: any emails activity such as received, read, replied to, forwarded or organised on macOS Mail is now also not syncing with any of my iOS devices.

If I receive 200 emails while working on macOS Mail, read, reply, forward, organise them all in their respective project folders, etc. nothing gets synced to iOS. So when I open Mail on iPhone or iPad, all those 200 emails are showing as unread and none of the replies and other email activity done on macOS is showing… I literally have to mark them all as read, redo placing them again in whatever Mail folder I need them to be, etc. And that’s just to clear my inboxes because I’m still not getting any of the emails sent via macOS synced, making this whole Mac Mail ecosystem quite useless and unhelpful to use…
