No option for wifi or wifi nic available. Performed clean install of el capitan on 2009 mbp.. updated and rebooted 20 times.. even when installing OSX the wifi option was greyed out. any suggestions please

WiFi not Showing Up:
Where are you seeing this? Is this missing from System Preferences GUI? Try creating a new user, seeing if it then works. Reinstall the macOS, creating a Time Machine Backup before you do so.
